These are all over L.A. They are native to a more humid climate, which is why I often see them attacked by bugs, I suppose.
However, in our garden, there are a few that are perfect and healthy.
I took many, many pictures of these this morning. The orange-red of the stigma freaked my digital camera out, they look like they’re glowing. In actuality, their color is more red than orange.
Must try photographing them with film next.
