Camera: iPhone5c and apps, Canon Vixia HFS200
Editing: Final Cut Pro X
Sound: Final Cut Pro X
Vision came together based on a very small video I had made with one of my favorite iPhone video apps during a coffee break at Union Station. I wanted to do something more with it, and at that time I was playing with a triptych format in my photography. I edited it with Final Cut Pro and paired it with some noisy machine sounds and pushed the color and distortion all over the place. And then I tied it back to a video I overlaid in previous episode, Where Are You.
At this point, I can now declare that Abbandonata has started to grow past its original storyline, which was based on an incomplete short story I wrote in 2013. Which is pretty exciting, as it’s truly become a complete improvisation in every way.
The challenge to keep it interesting, while making sure that each segment relates in some way to the whole, is ON. What I started to do in my Still In Utero project on Tumblr evidently is becoming a favored format for me. So fun!
