Snow

headless

There was a time

when I had a very small child

and I knew its body

through my fingertips.

But we lost that brief period

when we perceived each other like this

each part known intimately

without sight.

After a time

even unclothed,

we were clothed.

We receded each into the forest

and trees muffled our dialogue with one another.

Snow fell.

Abbandonata
