Pink and white
our windows rolled down
in the days before air-conditioning
bright summer morning
our swimsuits under our shorts and t-shirts
our towels on our laps
suntan lotion in hand
hats and sunglasses in place
ready to run into the water.
Pink and white
we knew we were almost there
as your fragrance invaded
our speeding space
miles of a windy corridor
the entrance to a room of moving turquoise
maidens greeting us with songs
before taking a vow
of joy.
