Playing with Procreate and hand drawn animation, with stylus, and some excellent brushes by True Grit Texture Supply (esp. fond of The Rusty Nib set – I like to do my foundation drawing in a crow quill pen style).
Everything is free-hand improv, as I would draw and paint. Seem to be moving back toward abstraction as well. Really trying to take advantage of this unusual time to get out of the instant gratification mode of the times, and back into labor of a manual manner, development that takes time.
Digital tools make some things faster, they are useful. But what is gratifying for me has to have a physical element, a touch element, and a non-purely machine process.
It’s time to move back to that way of making.
