Lost Then Found

Oh I had forgotten

those days in the summer

when we lay in the sun in the sand

and swam in the water in the waves

and collected these halves of tiny houses

treasures in their soft, colorful striations

each entirely unique.

Those warm, long days

when we were young

and not ashamed of our bodies

when we touched in the sun in the sand

touched in the water

and in the waves where we swam.
