I’m very surprised to have been offered and very pleased to accept the Honorable Mention Award for Experimental Forum 2017. I rarely enter film festivals, but I felt that STEPS was a substantial and new direction for me, and I wanted to get it in front of more and new eyes. To receive official recognition from Experimental Forum, after Studio44 showed the first two parts of my film this past August, really encourages me to keep working toward whatever I’m chasing (always a complex vision for me to articulate, except through film). And to have the audacity to keep putting my work in front of new eyes in the future.
