Dragged is a video collaboration with Rex Bruce. It was created specifically for OPTICAL life through the lens, a new exhibit at the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (LACDA). Dragged was shot solely on iPhone with various apps, and completed, with sound by Rex Bruce, in Final Cut Pro X. The footage is of a morning commute to work on an express bus on Wilshire Avenue. I have been documenting this street and my rides almost daily for two years through photography and video. With Rex’s sound, the rush and the rough sound of an express ride through familiar territory became very central. The challenge was to find that common theme bring it out in a way that felt visceral.
I’m very happy to have had the opportunity collaborate with Rex, and look forward to future collaborations.
