A garage entrance which I’ve photographed numerous times. One goes below, one goes up, and I have no idea what the third one does, perhaps ground level…
Arrows are one of my favorite symbols, especially painted on the street, really large. I love how they disappear a little into the blackness of the garage in the center. And how they are dirtied and worn.
The style of this building lends itself naturally to sequence, and particularly in the greater length than height of the windows and entrances/exits, to the form of a strip of film, frame following frame. Some interesting ideas about what to do with that real life structure, in conjunction with the flatness of a negative and photos and moving pictures in general, come to mind.
So many ways to combine things.
